Job Description:

The Safety Systems Administrator is a member of the Quality, Safety, Transportation and Reliability (QSTR) Team. This person will be responsible for management of the safety management system. They will assist with statistics, KPIs, and other safety administration.

Responsibilities

  • Administration of safety management system (SMS) including: user, dashboard setup, chemical management ebinder, incident management, and inspection/auditing
  • Assist with site audit review and KPIs to ensure compliance and action management for continuous improvement
  • Provide information to stakeholders as it relates to safety statistics for business qualifications (i.e. account forms, ISN, Avetta, OSHA 300/300A, Incident Rates, etc.)
  • EHS written program, training, and supporting documents
  • Employee records (additions/deletions, site specific training assignments, training)
  • Update monthly hours, employee counts, and incidents
  • Hiring client specific acknowledgement forms and other EHS documents
  • Workers Compensation experience modification rate (EMR) and annual updates
  • Respond to EHS questionnaires for existing and prospective customers
  • Customer/Contractor Management
  • Assist Mazzella and their insurance companies while working with Director of Safety in overseeing any program incentives and discounts
  • Aid with claim reporting and management with internal and external stakeholders and insurance groups
  • Ensure each location understands where to go in event of injury / treatment (clinic, hospital)
  • Provide input to Director of Safety specific to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manual to maintain compliance and improve clarity
  • Administer and contribute to MazzNet to ensure safety documentation, training, and auditing are available and updated
  • Maintain work area, equipment, and tools in a clean and organized manner; follow all Safety Guidelines

Qualifications

Education:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; college experience preferred

Experience & Skills:

  • At least 2 years hands-on experience working in an industrial environment
  • Experience in an environmental, health, and safety environment
  • Familiarity with insurance groups
  • Requires solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills are required
  • Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task

  • Demonstrate care and concern for all team members
  • Understand and lead the execution of Mazzella safety programs and training for team members and stakeholders
  • Make safety a daily point of emphasis and regularly communicate as much with your teams
  • Report all injuries, incidents and near hits immediately and investigate to identify root cause and corrective actions
  • Keep yourself and others safe by identifying hazards and implementing control measures to eliminate/reduce risk
