OVERVIEW
Renewable Fuels Accounting is responsible for the accounting of renewable fuel purchases (ethanol, bio, renewable feedstocks), sales, inventory reconcilements, as well RIN and Carbon Intensity reconcilements. This is a growing, evolving, and dynamic area as the importance of renewable fuels increases and governmental policies change. The primary systems used in this role is Right Angle and the Renewable Compliance Management System (RCMS). The successful candidate will work closely with commercial traders, schedulers, terminal & transport personnel, and others in the Operations Accounting department. This position will also work closely with the Renewable Fuels supervisor on RA reporting, closeout tasks, analytical work, and special project work as necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with commercial traders and schedulers to ensure all purchases and sales by various modes of transportation of renewable fuels are recorded, matched, and distributed.
Coordinate the receipt of invoices, Renewable Identification Numbers (RINS) and Carbon Intensity (CI) PTDs from the suppliers.
Investigate discrepancies in price, volume, transaction dates, types, and number of RINs received to ensure timely payment of renewable fuel purchases.
Reconcile assigned inventory locations and work closely with the Refined Products Accounting groups on other locations that inventory ethanol.
Assist other Renewable Fuel Accountants and Processors as problems arise.
Assist Renewable Fuels Supervisor in various reporting, RA checks, analytical work, and special projects
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
0-2 years of related experience
