Chevron Oronite Technology BV in Rotterdam is one of Oronite's four global technology centers. At our Rotterdam site Research and Development is conducted in the field of lubricant additives for automotive and industrial engines. The site consists of an engine laboratory with automotive and marine engines with associated fuel storage, a bench test and analytical laboratory as well as office facilities. The Financial Controller role is responsible for the financial health of various legal entities in the Netherlands. The controller works closely together with shared service centers, tax and legal specialists and various colleagues to support various businesses in the Chevron group. As a member of the Netherlands Finance team you help drive optimization of processes and the development of best practices. Working for a large multinational provides a wide range of development opportunities for Finance Professionals. The team in the Netherlands supports different types of companies and this particular role will be involved in business support activities for Chevron Oronite Technology BV (e.g. Financial Planning, Reporting and Analysis) in Rotterdam as well as provide support to various upstream (holding) entities.

Function;

  • Prepare financial statements and management reports in compliance with both statutory and management requirements.
  • Internal coordination and contact for external audits
  • Partner with business units in preparing business plans and forecasts. Provide analyses and commentaries on business performance.
  • Partner with our offshore shared services center to ensure proper recording of transactions
  • Oversight for intercompany, equity accounting, general ledger and month-end close
  • Provide accounting advice and information to support management decision-making
  • Ensure adequate controls are in place for both integrity of financial numbers and business processes including SOX controls
  • Reviews and resolves problems regarding the development and application of new or changes to business unit reporting, tax landscape, customer portfolio and order to cash processes
  • Drives digitization efforts through IT system deployments and adoption of new technology for analytics and efficiency supports the Digital Journey
  • Simplifies and standardizes business & finance processes
  • Support project accounting

Profile

  • Master in business economics, AA or RA is preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a similar capacity or external audit environment
  • Strong accounting knowledge and analytical skills (Dutch Gaap and familiar with US Gaap)
  • Affinity with and awareness of tax matters
  • Experience using tools such as MS Power BI and Power Apps to solve business problems
  • SAP experience (or similar ERP systems)
  • Excellent communicative skills of the Dutch and English language, spoken and written.
  • You work independently, are flexible, and resistant to stress
  • You are able to work in a team as well as independently

We offer a competitive salary package, depending on background and experience between 65-95k plus bonus.
