Job Description:

General Summary

The Sr Systems Administrator works in a fast-paced production environment, helping LAIKA’s artists leverage a wide array of technology to create animated feature films. As a technical leader of the Support Engineering team, this position works collaboratively with technical and production teams to research, develop, and support technology for the studio’s business operations and production environment.

Job Functions

  • Support desktops, mobile devices, peripherals, and applications including top-tier escalations and Executive Support when needed.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts in coordination with users, technical staff, and outside vendors.
  • Support Microsoft Office 365, Exchange, OneDrive, and SharePoint at an advanced level.
  • Act as a project lead, starting with the integration of a new ticketing system.
  • Configure and support conditional access components, MFA, and MDM systems.
  • Work with Technical Development teams to document, test, and deploy new applications.
  • Foster ongoing dialog with departments on their use of technology.
  • Monitor system configurations, performance, and resource utilization.
  • Develop automation tools to improve efficiency and increase reliability.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience supporting Windows, Linux, and Mac desktops.
  • Experience with virtualization, systems imaging, and configuration management across platforms.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft/Office 365, Exchange, OneDrive, and OWA.
  • Prior experience as a project lead is required.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, documentation, and analytical skills.
  • Prior experience with ticketing system integration is preferred.
  • Experience working with Active Directory or LDAP infrastructure preferred.
  • A solid understanding of scripting, networking, and hardware fundamentals is preferred.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces (e.g., data centers and closets).
