This Assistant Manager Technology invests in the future of Southwest’s People by leading and championing the Infrastructure Operations Team as they support the delivery of all Technology initiatives. This Assistant Manager will provide a People-focused approach to Technology Leadership, and they’ll drive their Team and apply department/enterprise business knowledge to ensure value alignment. This role is accountable for the delivery and support of solutions and services that are technically and functionally solid, well integrated, comply with technical strategy, and meet or exceed Customer requirements. This Assistant Manager Technology is excited to join this small but mighty Team, coach and develop the Cohearts in this space, and help pilot the future of Southwest Airlines.
Additional details:
This role is offered as a regional workplace position and Employees must work in the region they support. This could require working from a mix of on-site Company facilities and remote-based offices to perform the job function in a regional location determined by business needs. Each Department will provide Employees with guidance on when and where presence is required with as much notice as reasonably possible.
Please note, that while this is a regional position, there is a limited group of states or localities ineligible for Employees to regularly perform their work off-site. Those ineligible locations are Alaska, Delaware, New Jersey, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. is required, and no current or future work authorization sponsorship is available.

Responsibilities
- Communicate, support, and drive understanding of Company and Department goals/initiatives to the Team and incorporate these goals into their day-to-day work
- Provide day-to-day Leadership, coaching, and training to the cross-functional Teams to deliver solutions and services to meet enterprise needs
- Assist with developing and executing strategies and processes to improve performance and the value of products and services provided
- Lead a cross-functional Team to deliver solutions and services to meet enterprise needs
- Drive and follow through to resolution of organization, team, and individual issues
- Participate in organizational processes and initiatives, i.e. performance management, interviewing, budgeting, training, etc.
- Provide Technical thought Leadership related to assigned functional area
- Deliver technology solutions using best practices to achieve maximum Team productivity while delivering high-quality products
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, processes, and solutions related to assigned responsibilities
- Build strong, collaborative relationships and credibility while influencing and driving change across respective Business and Technology Teams
- Work alongside Technology and business partners to measure financial benefits and demonstrable business value
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

- Broad knowledge of business/Leadership principles, including planning, organizing, developing, and supervising
- Knowledge of technology practices, concepts, methodologies, tools, and trends
- Skilled in partnering and communication in order to facilitate interactions with business Customers and technology teams
- Ability to use appropriate motivation and influence techniques to achieve desired Team results

- Skilled in organization, communication, and prioritization and ability to work in a matrixed environment that includes Employees, Vendors, and Managed Services
- Broad Knowledge of business and the ability to provide tactical leadership to coach and develop the team to improve knowledge of business applications and impact on business functions
- Preferred: Knowledge of Linux and Unix
- Preferred: Knowledge of Storage environments
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field and/or equivalent formal training
Experience
- Fully functioning, broad knowledge in:
- A Business and/or Information Technology environment
- Direct or indirect Leadership experience
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information
- Air travel with frequent overnight stays required
- Ability to work extended hours as needed
"Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $137,250 per year to $152,500 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
