As the Senior Indirect Category Supplier Manager for the Global Category team, you will be responsible for establishing the category strategy and supplier relationships for CSA (Civil, Structural, Architecture) category. You will partner with Global & Site Facilities and Regional Procurement teams to develop Global category strategies, work with Micron Legal to resolve contract strategy needed to support each project, and then drive compliance to that contract. Your primary goal is to deliver the greatest value of each project, which require strong sourcing (negotiating), contracting, supplier management, and overall project management skills.

In this role, you are encouraged to collaborate with regional procurement teams, 3rd party service providers and supplier account teams across multiple categories and regions, in an indirect leadership role. You will engage in and lead the development and implementation of category strategies to optimize cost, supply, and quality. Additional responsibilities include negotiating terms, conditions and pricing to leverage spend, leading and participating in department projects, serving as a primary contact for industry and supplier information, and acting as a mentor for other members within the Procurement organization.

Responsibilities and tasks

Manage Supplier Relationship Globally

  • Act as primary point of contact for assigned suppliers and projects
  • Perform commercial supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial development of strategic suppliers
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with supplier(s) while optimally resolving supplier performance/capability issues
  • Ensure suppliers align with Micron’s business ethics, code-of-conduct programs, and corporate safety policies and social responsibility initiatives
  • Communicate key supplier management updates and decisions to multiple levels in the organization including Executive Leadership
  • Enlist senior management, when appropriate, to help reinforce dedication and involvement from suppliers

Drive Negotiations with Suppliers

  • Lead or participate in negotiations for a contract
  • Lead on sourcing events/RFQ process
  • Develop a contract strategy for each project, including to build, negotiating, monitoring and implement contracted terms and conditions
  • Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiations

Handle Supplier Performance

  • Partner with collaborators and site teams to build a comprehensive view of supplier performance
  • Collect and relay site-specific priorities to suppliers
  • Own and lead overall Strategic Supplier relationships for category
  • Collaborate internally to drive and develop key performance measures/metrics for Strategic Suppliers and monitor supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement
  • Lead in prioritizing and delivering on strategic supplier events, such as Quarterly Business Reviews, Annual Supplier Evaluations, and Executive Review Meetings

Build and Implement Category Strategy

  • Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal setting
  • Provide market intelligence and price trends to relevant internal partners on a focused schedule
  • Apply should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace
  • Serve as the subject matter authority for the Facilities procurement category and share knowledge with key collaborators and Indirect teams to enable more effective planning, forecasting, and execution

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • PMP certification or equivalent, is preferred.

Experience

Candidate must possess a BS degree with 6+ years of experience or MS degree with 4+ years of experience or a PhD degree with 2+ years of experience in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Management, Engineering, or other related fields or equivalent experience.

10+ years of experience in one of the following:

  • Construction.
  • Construction estimating.
  • Cost engineering.
  • Project controls manager.

6+ years of experience in the following:

  • Semiconductor Industry.
  • Analytical tools such as Power BI, Excel, Power Query or Equivalent.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$81,000.00 - $146,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses, and equity.
