The Senior Production Editor will manage primarily nonfiction titles through the production process from manuscript through bound book, working closely with production, managing editorial, editorial, design, and digital to ensure titles are produced accurately and on schedule; hiring freelance copyeditors, proofreaders, and indexers and evaluating their work; managing schedules of each title in our inhouse tracking system; copyediting and proofreading cover copy and other ancillary material for each title; coding and deflagging manuscripts and preparing for design and typesetting.
Required skills: Five to seven years of experience in trade book production editorial; must be MAC literate; fully skilled in use of Word with Track Changes for copyediting, coding, and deflagging manuscripts; ability to review copyediting on paper and proofreading both on paper and onscreen; familiar with Chicago Manual of Style; a preference for nonfiction books.

The annual salary for this position is $65,000.00 - $65,000.00
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
