Job Description:
The Sr. Accountant - ABS position leads structured finance activities for VWFS’s asset-backed securitization (ABS) programs in a team-oriented environment with emphasis on analysis, documentation, and compliance.
Role Responsibilities
- Represents Structured Finance on the structuring team in the development and design of ABS programs including;
- Review, interpret, and validate sections of the offering and legal documents.
- Lead asset pool selection, analytics, and modeling cash flows.
- Coordinate due diligence effort with external accountants.
- Respond to requests and communicate with treasury, tax, legal, risk management, investment bankers, and outside legal counsel.
- Develop specialized accounting and servicing support for ABS transactions under International accounting standards and related regulations including;
- Asset selection and removal based on established criteria.
- Monitor pool performance for compliance with investor triggers and regulations.
- Assist with process procedures and documentation to comply with audit requirements/company policy
- Assist with the review of monthly servicing reports, journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Assist with review of monthly and annual SEC filings for public ABS transactions.
- Coordinate annual servicing audits performed by external accountants.
- Develop and maintain control procedures for ABS transactions under SEC Regulations.
- Review wire requests and reconciliations for daily collections related to public ABS transactions.
- Maintenance of ABS systems and database records.
- Ensure quality of both import data and internal calculations
- Create and implement internal controls for both daily and monthly data
- Manage and monitor all program/script changes and update all related documentation
- Work with IT to resolve any data issues or server issues, work with vendor for process issues
- Support Treasury activities related to VWFS.
- Review accounting ABS support schedules and financial analysis of various general ledger accounts.
- Continuously develop knowledge base to keep current on existing and emerging issues in both accounting and banking to assist in meeting accounting and regulatory requirements.
Experience Required
- 7+ years of professional experience, preferably in Accounting, Finance or Asset-Backed Securitization
Education Required

General Skills
- Professional accounting and financial analysis experience.
- Extensive personal computer financial applications knowledge & experience.
- Treasury and/or banking experience.
Specialized Skills Required
- Strong accounting background
- Knowledge of International Accounting Standards
- Systems integration/maintenance capabilities
