About you and this role –

In this role, you will support Dow’s U.S. Gulf Coast Pipeline group as a Senior Production Engineer located in Angleton, TX. This group is responsible for pipelines that transport hydrocarbons greater than 3600 miles in Texas and Louisiana. It is highly integrated with the Dow sites on Gulf Coast and numerous third-party consumers, providing excellent opportunities to network across various Dow sites.

In addition, you will serve as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems, and enable safe and efficient production of low cost, quality products.

Responsibilities –

  • Work closely with the operations team leveraging their problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
  • Elevate and appropriately apply knowledge of the plant and technology referencing historical data and conferring with Technology Center or other subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Ensure Most Effective Technology (MET) is understood and utilized.
  • Partner with experts to perform advanced troubleshooting and improve and document operating discipline. Diagnose and document root causes of unplanned events in the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental operating permits. Understand site integration and provides input to optimize the overall system.
  • Serve as project manufacturing representative on small DOT projects.
  • Participate in Process Safety initiatives like LOPA Revalidation, LPP Gap Assessment, SIS Assessment etc.
  • Participate in audits for Department of Transportation/Railroad Commission, Environment Health & Safety, LA Department of Natural Resources and the Technology Center. Ensure compliance with DOT and other regulations like PHMSA
  • Investigate reliability issues for pipeline components/systems
  • Understand site integration and provide input to optimize the overall system.
  • Understand production plan and ensure it is met. Work with and support the Production Coordinator to ensure optimal plan.
  • Diagnose and document root causes of asset utilization losses in the facility.
  • Understand why specific procedure steps and precautions are needed and keeps a strong field presence to reinforce the importance.
  • Conduct daily review of logbook and alarm history to better understand the plant operation and stay engaged with daily activities.
  • Maintain, own, and review daily Key Process Indicators (KPI)/ trends to ensure optimum performance.
  • Track unplanned events (UPEs) and keep department’s tracker up to date.
  • Respond urgently to GCPL issues and emergencies. Act as a technical expert during unplanned events and drive implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions.

  • Work with commercial group to identify and executes opportunities. Determine asset capability for gas scheduling/planning purposes.
  • Support Right of Way in establishing constraints/concerns for third party pipeline activity.

Required Qualifications –

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (i.e. engineering, manufacturing or related).
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills –

  • Electrical Engineering degree

  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for this role and may be provided based on eligibility.
  • A company vehicle will be provided to support on the job travel for this position.
