Plains All American is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing, and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). We own an extensive network of pipeline transportation, terminalling, storage, and gathering assets in key crude oil and NGL-producing basins and transportation corridors and at major market hubs in the United States and Canada. On average, Plains handles more than 6 million barrels per day of crude oil and NGL in its Transportation segment. The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

The Cloud Network Architect is responsible for the enterprise network that transmits data to, from, and in the Cloud. They are responsible for designing and architecting the IP network components, both physical and virtual. The Cloud Network Architect provides the roadmap for migrating functions and networks to public and hybrid cloud infrastructure. The Architect is also responsible for network security; they design, implement, and manage network security countermeasures and enhanced architecture when network vulnerabilities are discovered.

The candidate for this role should be a big-picture thinker and a highly skilled Architect leader, a problem-solver with a deep passion for creating and building integrated solutions that combine technology with automation and governance to deliver value.

Responsibilities:

• Experience across various enterprise solutions/ technology stacks (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS).
• Design, implement, and manage the secure networking infrastructure within the Azure cloud environment, focusing on adherence to network security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand security and policy requirements and translate them into effective networking solutions.
• Configure and optimize Azure networking services, including virtual networks, subnets, network security groups, virtual private networks (VPNs), load balancers, and traffic routing, while adhering to security guidelines.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate network security automation and policy enforcement into CI/CD pipelines.
• Stay current with the latest network security trends, industry best practices, and compliance requirements related to Azure cloud networking.
• Collaborate in the design and execution of the Palo Alto network environment.
• Design and execution of network infrastructure projects involving LAN, WAN, Wireless, VPN, DM-VPN, and Cloud services.
• Design WAN Optimization for all regions for the best performance.
• Responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining all Plains’ network diagrams for Cloud, Hub, and Leaf sites.
• Provide network security support and solution in designing, integrating, deploying, and troubleshooting enterprise network implementations.
• Deliver network solutions, design, integration, and deployment support for enterprise cloud implementations with Azure Firewall, Virtual networks, Express Routes, and Virtual network gateways.
• Partner with outside network vendors to solve new and current products to resolve network design issues.
• Review and determine whether the network-based policies on the deployed solutions are practical, relevant, and updated.
• Implementing network security framework, best practices, and standards across the enterprise and being responsible for creating near & long-term roadmaps and network strategies aligned to the business initiatives and changes.
• Collaborate in maintaining network security by monitoring and ensuring compliance with standards, policies, and procedures.
• Provide network technical knowledge and collaborate with IS teams on new projects.
• Serve as a trusted adviser to business stakeholders by understanding core processes and priorities.
• Assist the IS teams in troubleshooting end-user connectivity and latency issues at cloud, local and remote locations.
• Maintains network technical expertise consistent with changes in technology and company needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a network engineer, with a strong focus on designing and implementing secure Azure cloud networking solutions.
• Deep knowledge of Azure networking services, with a strong emphasis on network security considerations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex network security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience in Azure Networking services and components, which includes:

• Firewalls
• NSG rules
• VWAN Hubs
• Express routes
• Virtual Networks/Subnets
• Private Endpoints
• Private DNS Zones
• Load balancers
• Application Gateways

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 in a hybrid environment.
• Azure certifications, such as Azure Networking Engineer.
• Knowledge of secure network practices and experience integrating network security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of network segmentation and micro-segmentation concepts for enhanced security.
• Experience in Time Series Data/IOT Message Routing
