Job Description
The Scientific Strategy lead plays a critical role in the ongoing launch of a Pediatric Pneumococcal Vaccine, a key growth driver for the organization and high priority, amidst a highly competitive and dynamic market. The Scientific Strategy Lead will be accountable for developing the strategies and relevant initiatives to drive scientific understanding, advocacy and activation for a Pediatric Pneumococcal Vaccine. This role will guide commercial activities that interface with internal and external stakeholders, including US Medical Affairs, Regional Vaccine Medical Directors, Global Marketing, the Center for Observational and Real-World Evidence (CORE), and key external societies.
Key Tasks of the role will include, but are not limited to:
Define brand priorities from a scientific education and advocacy perspective, ensuring alignment with marketing L3 strategy
Partner with Medical Affairs to develop and execute upon a scientific engagement plan that supports the ongoing launch of a Pediatric Pneumococcal vaccine
Understand and adapt to a highly dynamic competitive landscape, leading the development of a scientific strategy that differentiates versus competition
Partner with Medical Affairs and GEMS to lead Group Input Meetings
Partner with key stakeholders on the development of medical education content and collaborate across the marketing team to execute upon medical education strategy, including digital components through the digital engagement team (DET)
Develop the franchise’s annual congress plan and develop necessary congress resources / activities
Work with CORE and Market Access teams to support needs, including assessing our health care economic value platform
Represent brands on select cross-divisional teams (e.g. VEST)
Act as the commercial point during LEAD meetings and manage label updates
Consistently remain current on key insights for the brand, customer, and marketplace
Knowledge and Skills
BA/BS
A minimum of 2 years of Vaccines/Pharma/Biotech knowledge OR a minimum of 3 years combined strategic marketing, brand management, sales or business support knowledge in any industry
Strong written/verbal communication skills as demonstrated through knowledge in strategy & marketing business case communication, sales interface, direct customer engagement, and/or sales presentations
Strong project management skills as demonstrated by prioritizing activities, using resources optimally, establishing appropriate deadlines, and ensuring on-time delivery
Results-driven, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
Proficiency with communication/marketing to healthcare providers
Proficiency in a highly regulated environment (with medical/legal review processes) including bringing materials through legal, regulatory, and clinical review
Proficiency in influencing without direct authority, navigating complex or matrix organizations and working successfully with cross-functional teams
