Job Summary:
As a Ground System Software Engineer with Raytheon, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. Our small agile teams adapt to evolving customer and warfighter needs.
Location: Onsite in our Aurora, CO primary. Richardson, TX and Dulles, VA are secondary locations.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Have the ability to obtain and maintain a SCI clearance.
- Develop software for cutting edge satellite ground systems with space network ground segments and users around the world.
- Have a direct impact on the operation of new state of the art satellites that perform intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance for multiple customers.
- Experience with the full software lifecycle including design, development, test, delivery, and maintenance.
- Exposure to various technologies and techniques including Multi-Tiered Architectures, Amazon Web Services, Geospatial Visualization Tools, Digital Engineering, and Automation Frameworks that support advanced spacecraft missions.
- Work with modern DevSecOps development practices and utilize Agile processes.
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of software engineering experience.
- Experience developing software using Java.
- Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Required on site/in the SCIF. Flexible work schedules available. 5/40, 9/80, 4/10. Dulles, Richardson, or Aurora.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of Software Engineering processes and best practices.
- Proficiency in object-oriented analysis and design
- Experience with Agile development
- Experience working within LINUX/UNIX operating systems
- Experience working with applications in the AWS Cloud
- Experience with microservices using Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Development
- Experience with one or more areas of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics models.
