Purpose of the Job
- Perform Basic Design, calculations & specification for Generator auxiliaries systems
- Checking of final manufacturing drawings and BoM coming from Product definition or Suppliers
Position in the Organisation
Organisation Structure: Working inside CoE Large Generators
Organisational Reporting: Sub CoE leader
Network & Links: CoE team, Product definition, System integrators, Suppliers
Mission
Responsibilities
- To understand the specification of the project, product, customer requirement, Generator operating parameters and operating sequences of Hydro power plant
- Design / Specification of Generator Instrumentation - for measuring temperature, pressure, flow, Cabling and Terminal boxes, Grounding system, Condition monitoring equipment like Partial discharge, Air gap monitoring, Vibration, Shaft current and Fire protection systems
- Prepare P& IDs, technical specifications and drawings specifying design requirements
- Manage and execute work-packages with Product definition team
- Working with suppliers for defining, improving or cost out during design phase
- Support to Supply chain during execution phase
Accountabilities
Execute with required Quality, within budget and lead times specified
Measurement
On time delivery, Quality, Cost (components, engg hours)
Candidate Requirements
Educational Requirements : B. E. (Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation)
Knowledge / Experience
- At least 3 years in design of Hydro Generator auxiliary systems. Total experience desired > 5 years
- Experienced in understanding engineering requirements of Hydro Generator
- Applied knowledge of Instrumentation and Electrical engg and standards
- Experienced in preparing design specifications for components mentioned in ‘responsibilities’
- Experienced in Design & Engineering Processes
- Good level in ‘MS Office” Application
- User Level SAP System, PLM (CORELLA)
- Experienced in CAD tools preferably AUTOCAD, EPLAN and UG NX
