Job Description:
As the Product Designer, you will successfully design and develop innovative products for one of the hottest brands in the market! You will have the opportunity to demonstrate creative thinking and execute a wide variety of projects to support and align with brand strategies and objectives. The ideal candidate is driven and self-motivated with a prior toy or consumer product experience with experience in vehicles, playsets, collector toys, feature items, hard goods, and soft goods product design and development experience. What you will do:
- Exhibit interest and knowledge of the current trends/innovations as well as an understanding of the competitive marketplace in the toy industry.
- Champion great design in our high-quality products and help assure they are within target cost and QA/QC requirements.
- Builds consensus between members throughout the design process.
- Be adaptable to shifting priorities and be vigilant to keep your projects moving forward to hit deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with your branding, product management, engineering, packaging, licensor, and other internal team partners to create a product that is the best fit for the brand.
- Attend Brand and licensing meetings and brainstorm to obtain enough information for product design.
- Successfully prepare, present, and communicate concepts to the brand, development, management, and licensor teams.
- Ensure delivery of precise, clear, and complete product turnover specifications and ensure they are fully understood by the international team/factory.
- Support the overall strategic goals of the product, and provide direction and feedback during the development process that is attentive to the Licensor and for brand assurance.
- Responsible for completing, reviewing, and documenting specification changes, submitting for licensor approval, and providing comments for illustrative turns, sculpts, paintmasters, and sample reviews.
- Work closely with brand/management teams to resolve development issues, while assuring designs meet the target cost, schedule, and brand standards
- Communicate with the packaging design team to ensure product and packaging are aligned.

What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in toy design, industrial design, industrial engineering, or industry-relevant field preferred
- 3-5 years of relevant experience, ideally experience designing for kids
- 1+ years of experience working with global manufacturing factories (Asia preferred)
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign)
- Strong, visual-verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of 3D Modeling, Sculpting, and Rendering is a plus
- Knowledge of materials and multiple manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of working with Asia factories
- Knowledge of working with licensed brands
- Demonstrate a strong design sense and problem-solving skills
- Proactively observes and gains an understanding of the competitive marketplace including current trends and innovation.
- Detail-oriented and a well-developed sense of aesthetics
- Ability to manage multiple projects, problem-solving, and adaptability to change.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
