The Department of Finance is currently recruiting for a Digital and Communications Intern to support the communications and digital priorities of the department. This role will focus on content creation, writing, online publications, social media, email, infographics, and other various forms of communication.
Qualifications
- Journalism, Public Relations, Communications majors, or related field
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication and project management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Social media savvy and a general understanding of best practices
- Understanding of content management systems
- Ability to work independently on assignments and projects
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on the media landscape to identify public relations opportunities
- Write first drafts of press releases
- Design first drafts of social media posts
- Develop a digital content calendar for the Department of Finance
- Assist with updating the Department of Finance website using Drupal 10
- Create and distribute media (photos, infographics) to relevant communication platforms
