Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is the automation of tasks across applications as if manually executed by a person. The RPA team is responsible for coordinating and developing automations in support of Phillips 66 business goals. Specifically, we deliver automations for the Commercial, Marketing, Lubricants and Specialties business units.

The RPA Developer is responsible for delivering technical solutions. They code automations based upon stated requirements and work side-by-side with business users and project stakeholders as technical subject matter experts. It’s important for developers to have knowledge of the process they are automating while also providing programmatic knowledge. This role encompasses pre-project estimation, feasibility assessments, development, unit testing, user acceptance testing and hypercare post go-live support.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Developing automations based upon stated requirements

  • Understanding business processes, gathering requirements, and linking to technical solutions

  • Providing excellent and professional service to business customers

  • Providing estimations of effort and testing to project stakeholders

  • Determining feasibility of proposed automations

  • Delivering successful unit testing and assisting with user acceptance testing

  • Providing hypercare post go-live support

  • Documenting technical specifications and solution diagrams

  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computing, Engineering, or business-related discipline

  • 6 months or more experience building and delivering automation solutions in an enterprise environment in any toolset

  • Passion to grow career in a technical developer role leveraging diverse technologies

  • Ability and willingness to provide ad hoc emergency solutions and technology platform support

  • Strong desire to seek and execute process improvements

  • Willing to provide 24x7 support when needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years or more of Information Technology related experience

  • 2 years or more of experience developing and building RPA solutions with Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, UiPath, or equivalent automation technology

  • 1 year or more of IT solution development experience

  • 6 months or more experience developing solutions with scripting languages such as Javascript, VBScript, Python, or PowerShell

  • Experience with data integration tools

  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and project-solving skills

  • Knowledge of programming concepts and the software development lifecycle

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently within the team and accept leadership roles when required

  • Willing to collaborate on cross-functional tasks and contribute to team projects and operations beyond the scope of RPA development, demonstrating flexibility and a team-oriented mindset

  • Effective time management, work prioritization, and escalation skills

  • Focus on commitments and delivering results
