About The Team

  • CoverMyMeds’ Product Portfolio Management team is looking for a Product Portfolio ManagerTogether with our various business units, the work our Product Portfolio Management team does ultimately helps people get the medicine they need to live healthier lives.

  • The Product Portfolio Management team's mission is to drive the portfolio strategy, bring visibility to enterprise and suite-level strategies, promote cross-suite collaboration, and facilitate key decisions across these areas. 

  • The Product Portfolio Management team is responsible for providing data-informed recommendations to the Product Leadership Team around portfolio and investment decisions for McKesson’s CoveryMyMeds business. This team is responsible for developing an intentional balance of investments across extending current products and developing new products to advance healthcare.

  • The team is looking to hire a Manager, Product Portfolio reporting to the Senior Director of Product Portfolio Management. This individual will be an individual contributor.

  • The Product Portfolio Management team works collaboratively with Product leadership teams and cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, Strategy, Finance, etc.) to bring data and frameworks to drive recommendations that determine the focus of CoverMyMed's strategy. 

What You'll Do

  • As a Product Portfolio manager daily responsibilities will shift with business needs, but here’s a snapshot of what to expect:

  • Lead special product strategy efforts, as needed, that include partnering across product teams to develop and implement common definitions of investment, success metrics and frameworks

  • Facilitate discovery and prioritization of cross-portfolio opportunities to completion as well as provide key updates in the process

  • Running and day-to-day implementation of product strategy projects that support the annual planning cadence for the product (long-range plan, budget, etc…)

  • Analysis of portfolio investment strategy at a business(es) level, including debate and discussion leading to recommendations on how CoveryMyMeds should focus resources between emerging products vs. extending in-market products

  • Partner with sales, marketing, and corporate strategy to test elements of our product portfolio against long-term customer needs, identify gaps, and contribute to recommendations for the investment strategy

  • Actively participate with your team to increase the overall skill sets and value add of the team

Skills You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in required; preference to STEM or another discipline that allows for an understanding of the product portfolio

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in healthcare and/or technology industries

  • Strong analytic skills that allow for the formulation of a hypothesis, an understanding of the data required to analyze the hypothesis, ability to gather the data, and the ability to interpret the data

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts clearly, concisely and in a compelling manner (written, verbal and group presentation)

  • Curiosity and a strategic mindset – this role will focus on learning our products, customer needs, dynamic markets, and best practices among industry leaders

Preferred Skills

  • Strong familiarity with the U.S. healthcare system, specifically around the pharmaceutical industry and pharmaceutical delivery value chain

  • Collaboration – key success factors in this role include leading small teams without direct authority, building relationships across multiple functions and assimilating input and perspectives from across the organization

  • Desire to learn and implement product portfolio strategic management at both a conceptual and operational level

  • Product management experience preferred

  • Experience in product development processes is preferred, with some familiarity of agile software development, marketing, and sales concepts a plus

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$85,100 - $141,900
