Does being on the inside of a transformational organization sound exciting to you? We have a dynamic opportunity for a Lead Director, Senior Category Manager within our Consumer Health and Wellness area of focus.

As the Senior Category Manager, this role will lead merchandising efforts across a subset of Acute Health categories. This role will develop & execute category strategy, be accountable for delivering on the P&L, and collaborate across the organization to deliver industry leading growth plans. As a business owner, you will adeptly use all available tactics including Assortment, Promotions, ExtraCare, Digital, Social, Store Brand and Supplier Capabilities to reach or exceed your business objectives. Additionally, your success will require the engagement and further development of your high performing team as we lead the Transformation of Healthcare.

The Category Manager will be responsible for:
• Adapting and ensuring execution of the chronic Acute Health strategic vision in collaboration with Front Store leadership
• Management and financial results of the following businesses: Internal Pain, External Pain, Eye/Ear Care & Nicotine Replacement categories; this position has 3 direct reports and 2 indirect reports.
• In addition to strong business acumen and P&L accountability, a successful Senior Category Manager will be a skilled strategist, communicator, and bridge-builder to ensure a large cross functional team of collaborators (finance, operations, digital/IT, other merch teams, etc.) are all aligned to drive total front store objectives. Exceptional clarity of communication (verbal, written, PowerPoint presentations) is essential for success in this role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Champion innovation by bringing ideas to market in an agile way, while balancing growth potential against financial risk
• Influence product development in partnership with manufacturers and vendors to create end-products that deliver against consumer needs and white space opportunities.
• Shape our chronic Acute Health strategies by developing an informed strategic point of view and adeptly influencing key partners, including senior leaders while staying abreast of the customer and competitive trends
• Deliver sales and margin goals in assigned portfolio by attaining market share growth. Managing profit and loss targets to include but not limited to: sales, contribution margin, inventory turns, GMROI, and weeks of supply
• Build and develop high-performing teams, identifying and selecting the most effective associates based on their skill set
• Develop performance measures and goals that meet CVS's strategic plans, including measuring, monitoring, and holding associates accountable to goals.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback that places associates on a path to success while meeting corporate objectives
• Vendor management to include: collaborating, interviewing, and negotiating with manufacturers and vendors to ensure strategies are aligned to drive profitable sales
• Define and lead the execution of strategic initiatives. Develop and cultivate effective reciprocal teams within CVS support areas of Digital, Inventory, Pricing, Promotion, Finance, Store Brands, Store Design, and Store Operations
• Compliance orientation to maintain the integrity of data, systems, and partnerships with vendors
• Willingness to travel up to 15%

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 100,000
Maximum: 227,000

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.

Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional team members, internally and with suppliers.
• 5+ years’ experience managing a team (professional retail and/or digital merchandising/category management staff)

Preferred Qualifications
• 10+ yrs. Retail, Healthcare, or CPG experience
• P & L Ownership
• Omni-channel experience
• Working knowledge of modern merchandising tools and systems (promotions, assortment, pricing, optimization, etc.)
