Bench technicians are responsible for providing different services, depending on their area of expertise, and diagnosing problems and making repairs

  • Identify electronic/mechanical problems by use of diagnostic equipment
  • Test and verify sub-assemblies and major system components
  • Test, repair and maintain PRG equipment using set company procedures and guidelines.
  • Recalibrate and verify factory manufacturing specifications for pertinent equipment
  • Reviews part stock levels with Technical services manager
  • Intermediate understanding of control software and operation
  • Maintains and enters all factory acceptance testing and QC documentation
  • Maintains accurate parts lists for all related equipment
  • Ensures maintenance policies and procedures are met and related paperwork is in order
  • Ensures all equipment QC deadlines are met
  • Leads in internal training with entry level personnel
  • Cross-trains to assist in different departments as required
  • Leads by example and encourages subordinates and peers to perform work in a safe manner, including the use of proper PPE, adherence to safety standards and policies, and remain accident free.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime, including weekends and holidays, when needed

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Ability to install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot equipment
  • Must be able to read blueprints and diagrams
  • Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills
  • Working knowledge of equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces

Essential Functions

  • Install new products, and test them to ensure they are working correctly
  • Educating coworkers on how to use and maintain their device
  • Perform maintenance on equipment
  • Diagnose problems and develop solutions to repair them
  • Order parts needed for repairs as needed
