SENIOR IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT MANAGER

Job Description:

The Senior Implementation Project Manager is responsible for managing and leading projects and will provide support to others in their area of expertise.  Successfully managing projects requires excellent organization, documentation, and communication skills as well as the ability to help design innovative solutions when faced with complex issues. To effectively lead a project, the Senior Implementation Project Manager requires the ability to align with all relevant stakeholders both internally and externally.  This role will be directly accountable for achieving targets that relate to the planning, network, and/or procurement sides of the business.  Further, the Senior Implementation Project Manager:
•    Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines 
•    Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
•    Works independently, and receives minimal guidance
•    May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives 
•    Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others
•    Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience

  • Manage multiple projects within a project-based delivery model

  • Lead project teams with moderate risk, complexity, and resource requirements

  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies

  • Maintain all project-related documentation, including project plans, process flows/VSMs, resource requirements, and business cases

  • Communicate project progress and facilitate project-related meetings to meet deliverables; Escalate as quickly as necessary

  • Lead change management with all stakeholders – internal and external; Lead without authority and be confident and assertive with a willingness to challenge appropriately

  • Serve as the single point of contact and be accountable for all project-related activities & requests

  • Deliver projects on time and in budget with quality solutions

  • Offer solutions for improving our tools and processes

  • Build rapport with the project team and customer stakeholders

  • Anticipates internal and external challenges

  • Leverage technical expertise and relationships to contribute to strategy and drive business results

  • Track and report project financials (budgeted vs. actual) for allocated resource hours and billings

  • Provide support as necessary to the Sales Team

  • Collaborate with the project teams and provide support during “Go-Live”

  • Successfully transfer knowledge to Operations Teams as documented throughout the project lifecycle

  • Contribute toward development of tools, methodologies, and presentations for Implementation

  • Ensure compliance with the SOC process

  • Successfully execute the Process Transformation Methodology, including:

    • Document customer expectations

    • Capture the current processes of the customer

    • Document the results of the Implementation Survey

    • Document & contribute to the design of Future State

      • Support the creation of customer process maps

      • Document changes in roles and responsibilities

      • Identify opportunities for process improvement to increase productivity for all constituents (customer, carrier, supplier, customer’s clients, and CHR)

  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country-specific requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university

  • A minimum of 4 years of technical project management experience

  • Six Sigma, Lean, TQM or process improvement experience

  • Supply Chain, Logistics, and/or Transportation experience

  • Flexible hours (some weekend/late hours may be required)

  • Up to 20% travel may be required (domestic and/or international)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional certification

  • Project management experience, with the proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections, and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view

  • Strong communication skills: strong listener with exceptional facilitation skills and the ability to tell the story and connect to your audience

  • Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus

  • Ability to organize, design, develop and deliver projects for internal and external audiences at all levels

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts internally and externally at all levels

  • Experience working and thriving in a continuous improvement environment

  • Experience with lean processes and tools such as value stream mapping, A3 project management, visual management, Pareto Analysis, and fishbone diagrams

  • Experience and comfort in dealing with ambiguity and able to deliver with minimal oversight

  • Experience working directly with customers

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
