About This Role:

The Senior Manager, Marketing - Patient Engagement, Rare Disease - Friedreich's ataxia position offers an extraordinary opportunity to join a growing and evolving rare disease franchise in a therapeutic area with high unmet needs.  The Senior Manager will join the FA launch marketing team and will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies and tactics to drive and advance patient and community engagement. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Partner with the insights team to extract key customer and marketplace insights to document patient and caregiver journeys and uncover behaviors and content areas that inform action-driven strategies and plans
  • Leading the development of strategies, messaging, and creativity for patients, caregivers, and the broader FA community that deliver against overall business objectives
  • Guiding the development and overseeing tactical implementation and ongoing optimization of the consumer brand plan (including but not limited to special patient programs and patient storytelling across various channels)
  • Lead the branding/re-branding efforts of our patient services hub by partnering closely with our RTP team
  • Build and lead strategic efforts to deploy a patient ambassador program
  • Prioritize and lead multiple projects, and effectively influence, collaborate, and communicate with internal and external partners
  • Agency management, including creative and media agencies
  • Ability to communicate with and foster strong relationships with business functions outside the team to successfully lead initiatives: Patient Advocacy, Corporate Affairs, Family Access Managers, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Finance 
  • Prioritize resource allocation, deploy resources strategically, and monitor budget to ensure efficient use of resources

You love to innovate across all areas around patient engagement opportunities including media, social media, and omnichannel.  You have a passion and expertise in rare diseases and an ability to support these patients and their families. You understand patient journeys and how to help improve patient experiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of pharma or biotech commercial experience; minimum 2 years of marketing 
  • Experience managing external vendors and effective budget management
  • Excellent communication/coordination/interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively write and deliver presentations to senior management and customers.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple cross-functional teams and influence without authority.
  • Ability to think innovatively in terms of engaging with customers and meeting their needs.

  • Consumer/Patient marketing experience 
  • Digital/Omnichannel experience 
  • Rare Disease experience
