Position Description

PubMatic seeks a strong Sr. Product Data Analyst to work on our Real-Time Bidding and Machine Learning products in the monetization product team in Redwood City.

At PubMatic, we thrive on innovation and excellence, delivering cutting-edge products to our customers worldwide. Within PubMatic, the monetization product team is responsible for the product strategy and roadmap of all of PubMatic’s monetization and ML products.

As a Sr. Product Data Analyst, you will join PubMatic’s monetization product team and will directly report to the Sr. Director of Product for Monetization and will be responsible for supporting all products in the monetization product portfolio, including several ML products. This role provides an experienced data analyst with a unique opportunity to work directly within a high-impact product team. If you aspire to move into a Product Management career path in the future, this could be an ideal role for you to learn from an experienced team of PMs.

A successful candidate has a passion for using data to drive product decisions to make a direct impact to the company’s bottom line and to help drive informed business and product decisions. You have experience running A/B tests as well as evaluating various hypotheses through experimentation.

The ideal candidate will have a background in a quantitative or technical field, experience working with large data sets, and data-driven decision-making. You are focused on results, a self-starter, scrappy and have demonstrated success in using analytics to drive the understanding, growth, and success of a product.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data analysis to make product recommendations, track product KPIs, and report on product health metrics.
  • Design A/B experiments, analyze results, and communicate to broader stakeholders.
  • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of findings to multiple levels of stakeholders, creating visual displays of quantitative information.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities
  • Develop and automate reports, iteratively build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs

Requirements:

  • BA/BS or master’s degree with an emphasis on coursework of a quantitative nature (e.g. Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science)
  • At least 4 years of work experience
  • Experience running A/B tests and evaluating results.
  • Experience with pulling data from large datasets using SQL or Hive and using statistics to answer business/product questions.
  • Advanced Excel skills (use of Pivots, VLOOKUP, creating graphs, calculations using in-built functions, macros, etc.)
  • Capable of translating analysis results into business recommendations
  • Strong communication skills to be able to communicate data insights to a wide range of stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with Apache Hive
  • Experience working with statistical packages (e.g. R, SAS, Stata, MATLAB, etc.)
  • Work experience in an inter-disciplinary/cross-functional field
  • Deep interest and aptitude in data, metrics, analysis, and trends and applied knowledge of measurement, statistics, and program evaluation

Base Compensation Range: $130,000 - $145,000

Under applicable law, the above salary range provided is PubMatic’s reasonable estimate of the base salary for this role. The actual amount may vary, based on non-discriminatory factors such as location, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. In addition to salary PubMatic also offers a bonus, restricted stock units, and a competitive benefits package.
