NRG’s Tax Equity Advisory Group is looking for an Analyst to join our team, help build up our tax credit vertical business and open up innovative financing enabled by the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act. We are one of the most experienced, entrepreneurial teams in the industry with a track record of success in the renewables sector having originated, developed, financed and placed in operation over 2 GWs of assets. The team has a start-up like culture that requires innovation and agility from all of its team members. The candidate will have a combination of technical proficiency (Microsoft Excel), experience with data analysis, strong communication skills, attention to detail, high levels of organization and a strong interest in origination and closing transactions. This position will be based in New York City.

                                                                                                                                                   

Reporting to the Head of Tax Equity Advisory, you will play an integral role in the growth of our business and be involved in all aspects of building a scalable platform that can help deploy billions of dollars into the renewables sector.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to the following:

  • Support then eventually lead transactions with corporate tax credit buyers and sellers.
  • Originate opportunities, develop and manage RFPs, structure and negotiate term sheets, and manage closing processes with counterparties.
  • Manage and coordinate activity related to deal documentation
  • Work collaboratively with members of the internal team
  • Manage relationships with external vendors (tax credit buyers, sellers, insurance providers, and others)
  • Help architect and manage operational processes that ensure external partners have the most optimal experience with the business
  • Assist in the creation of marketing collateral and crafting detailed presentations for clients

 

Minimum Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years minimum experience in investment banking, consulting, or project finance. Renewable energy is preferred.
  • A record of academic and professional achievement, well-developed communication skills, the ability to collaborate well with a small team, proven organizational acumen working on multiple projects, and a high level of motivation are vital in this role
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver on critical business issues, while simultaneously possessing the ability to tactically execute against them and ‘see around corners
  • Strong prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with US power
  • Experience in renewable energy development and/or finance
  • Project management and operations

 

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $75,840 - $136,560. Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc
