Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of diverse and talented tax professionals
  • Oversee and review the Company’s worldwide tax provision on a quarterly and annual basis, including all controls driving process improvements, and automation.
  • Plan, forecast and advise on effective tax rates and cash taxes
  • Lead the US compliance team on the preparation, review and filing of all US federal and state corporate income tax returns as well as non-income tax returns including sales/use and property taxes
  • Facilitate change and process Improvements to the global tax accounting and compliance processes as well as delivery schedules
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders including Accounting, External Reporting, FP&A and Risk Advisory (Internal Audit) as well as statutory auditors
  • Partner with US tax planning and modeling teams to proactively identify and assess impacts from business changes, M&A, restructurings, and tax law changes

We’re looking for a candidate with the following:

  • Deep technical expertise in ASC740, and experience with GAAP and Non-GAAP accounting is a plus
  • Solid understanding of US corporate and international tax principles, and various foreign tax regimes
  • Proven track record of evaluating and improving tax operations processes and building documentation
  • Demonstrated experience identifying issues, mitigating challenges, and successfully leading diverse teams to resolve issues and complete projects with high complexity
  • Strong analytical thinking with demonstrated ability to present and communicate complex and interrelated concepts concisely to a wide audience of stakeholders including executive leadership and the board of directors, as needed
  • Proven track record of leading and building high-performing teams, across geographies and functions. 
  • Experience with evaluating and adopting technology such as OneSource, Alteryx, and Power BI to streamline and improve tax operations processes and quality of tax documentation and reporting 
  • Detailed oriented and having strong financial acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, focused, collaborative, with a sense of humor and fun, is a definite plus

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of diverse experience in tax accounting.  A combination of in-house corporate tax experience and public accounting experience is preferred.
  • Some experience with other taxes such as consumption (SUT, GST, VAT) and property taxes is a plus
  • CPA and Master’s degree strongly preferred
  • Experience with OneSource Tax products for provision and compliance is preferred.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$159,000.00 - $279,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses, and equity.
