Junior Operator (LNG) – Permanent – Paris, France – Excellent package


Navis Consulting is proud to be collaborating with Orion Global Transport in the search for a Junior Operator to be based in Paris. This is an excellent opportunity for a Deck officer to move ashore and learn the role of a commercial operator.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Keeping in close contact with the operations department of our technical managers and advising charterers and brokers with vessel’s Heel needs, movements, and expected dates of completion of present voyages and bunkers ROB.
  • Studying agreed-on C/P clauses for taking necessary action to protect our principal's interests.
  • Planning the refueling of each vessel for her employment needs to ensure the most competitive prices are obtained.
  • Taking all necessary information for load port and disport (Restrictions & requirements).
  • Monitoring and verifying cargo and ballast plans, and verifying that Masters follow proper instructions regarding cargo details, bunkering schedule, C/P main terms, Specifics, restrictions, and requirements for load port and disport, ensuring that charterers' voyage instructions are implemented.
  • Tendering notices (Delivery, redelivery, ETA, etc) to Charterers, Agents, and Parties concerned on behalf of the Master, if required, till the Master has received the necessary voyage instructions.
  • Appointing agents for each port. Arranging for cargo Surveyors to attend cargo operations on owner’s side as required
  • Monitoring vessels’ performance, noon reports, and challenging the weather data received by the vessels against third-party provider(s).
  • Participates in the development and update of the company OMS.
  • Keeping charterers advised on vessel positions.
  • Informing Technical/ Marine departments as well as external stakeholders of the vessel's next voyage.
  • Checking time sheets and cargo documents.
  • Handling disputes with Charterers/ agents etc


Experience Required:

  • Hold Class 2 Marine Officer certification
  • LNG Sailing experience (preferred)
  • Chemical Tanker experience (desirable)
  • ICS Certification (desirable)
  • Coding skills (desirable)
  • Adaptable mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an understanding of cultural differences.
  • Good command of English (French speaking skills would be advantageous but not essential)
