This position will be responsible for ensuring compliance to program quality requirements while providing management and oversight, including on site support, for their assigned supply base. The Program Quality Engineer is responsible for identifying and mitigating program risks, ensuring on time and accurate submission of Customer Deliverable Documentation Requirements, analyze program defects, trend analysis and conduct root cause analysis as applicable to eliminate defects and improve product quality, cost and schedule.



Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing program quality requirements:

  • Perform internal quality kick off meetings for new programs.
  • Ensure program milestones are completed per program schedule.
  • Ensure Customer Deliverable Documentation Requirements are submitted on time and accurate.
  • Track quality support labor hours against basis of estimate.
  • Ensure high priority program quality risks are identified, communicated, and mitigated.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Team meetings with internal and external customers

Develop/prepare Program and Supplier documentation:

  • Inspection plans and procedures as applicable to support program quality needs
  • Customer/Supplier Deliverable Documentation Requirements (SDRLs/CDRLs)
  • Measurement System Evaluation (MSE) and/or Acceptance Inspection Equipment (AIE) Documentation
  • Statement of work or quality clauses for contract flowdowns to support purchase orders
  • Review drawings for flow down of applicable program quality requirements
  • Develop and/or coordinate the development of program Contract Deliverable Requirements List items to include but not limited to:
    • Quality Program Plans
    • Critical Plan of Action
  • Critical Characteristics Control Plan

Onsite supplier visits:

  • process and quality system audits to ensure compliance to specifications and documented procedures
  • assess suppliers capabilities and capacity and identify supplier risks
  • support and/or witness of first article acceptance testing
  • source inspections
  • drive deployment of quality requirements, initiatives, and training to supply base

Ensure nonconformance (NCs) and corrective actions are initiated, actioned and closed out in accordance with internal procedures:

  • Ensure nonconforming material is dispositioned and feedback is provided to supplier
  • Lead corrective action teams, including failure investigations, to determine root cause and corrective actions for product or process nonconformances
  • Support proposal development
