Responsible for the overall operation of the Wichita plant, which includes the Chlor-Alkali area, Chloromethanes, Sodium Chlorite, HCL Burners, Utilities, and the Brine Field.
Serve as a role model for HESS excellence.
Provides strong leadership for the area and effectively manages the operations to make optimum use of the plant facilities and personnel and ensures safe, environmentally sound, reliable, and efficient operations to manufacture quality products. 
Develops the personnel in the department, directs work assignments, evaluates employee performance, and conducts employee discipline in a manner that is consistent with Company policies and procedures as well as the collective bargaining agreement.
Develops manufacturing strategy and plans for the facility's equipment, cost, legal requirements, and people. Assures that operations are managed in accordance with the plan. Provides manufacturing input for the marketing organization’s strategic plans.
Maintain close communication with Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, Tech Service, and Transportation to ensure that customer’s requirement is understood and necessary actions taken to maximize customer satisfaction.

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
10+ years’ experience in manufacturing experience in technical, maintenance or production departments, with significant supervisory experience
Communicates, implements, and assures compliance with governmental rules and regulations, as well as, Company plans, programs, policies, and procedures involved with the conduct of safe, clean, environmentally sound, and efficient operations
Develops and implements employee training programs for skill development and regulatory compliance
Self-starter with strong leadership, communications, analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
Superb organizational skills, with the demonstrated ability to create and implement efficient organizational systems
Experience in supervising and management; work groups with wide-ranging functions
High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read, write and speak in English
Must be able to respond to off-hour emergencies
Must have a valid driver’s license
Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs., and climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, and stooping is required. A
ble to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms
