Maintenance Operations Coordinator

Job Description:

Basic Function

Responsible for the maintenance workflow process and increased efficiency of scheduled maintenance work in the refinery.  Will act as the liaison between operations and the maintenance team.  Will be a Lean participant for operations and participate in continuous improvement teams.

Job Duties

  • (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)

  • Conveys Operations' priorities for maintenance work
  • Provides feedback & assistance to Shift Organization for maintenance-related issues
  • Provides feedback & assistance to the Maintenance Team
  • Represents Shift Organization at maintenance planning & scheduling meetings and communicates results
  • Participates in the management of the maintenance pull que process for the Shift Organization
  • Prioritize/move cards
  • Ensure all pull ques are full
  • Places highest priority cards/work at the top
  • Ensures work identified is properly prioritized and has been risk-assessed
  • Ensure that maintenance work takes into account operational constraints
  • Ensure that Shift Organization provides winterization priorities and provide to maintenance
  • Provide LDAR DOR to maintenance & follow up to completion
  • Validate need for OT for maintenance to complete priority work
  • Serve as focal point for maintenance contact including denial and discovery work
  • Approves routine maintenance requests, moves to WO status in SAP and communicates to Planner.
  • Continuously reviews all routine maintenance WO and notifications in SAP (i.e. manages operations backlog)

 

 

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superiors, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years of job-related experience is required.

Education Level

A Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required. 

 

PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

Trade school or journeyman/craftsman training or a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

Required Skills

Advanced ability to identify and solve problems and ways to optimize maintenance workflow. Ability to handle high-pressure situations and long hours. Team player with good interpersonal skills and with ability to work in a collaborative environment. Ability to interact with all levels of staff including engineers, operators, shift and maintenance supervisors. Ability to read and use process flow and P&ID sheets. Ability to perform basic mathematical skills. Intermediate computer skills. Expert knowledge of refinery operations (if located in the refinery) and craft knowledge. Advanced knowledge of safe work practices related to the specified fields. Ability to make tough priority decisions daily. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Basic reading and writing skills.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

None.

Work Conditions

Office and field (if HEP) and refinery (if HFC) based with up to 5% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, fumes or airborne particles, loud noises, vibrations, wet and/or oil contaminated conditions, at both below grade and elevated positions. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions.

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, and kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise finger and hand movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 50lbs, climbing up to 160ft, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates is essential, valid State driver’s license and proof of insurance, perceiving color differences, required to wear personal protective equipment.
