Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Sykesville, MD.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman Sykesville’s operations engineering team which supports the assembly and testing of power and control systems for naval applications.

Basic Qualifications

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2024.
  • Be majoring in or having majored in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
  • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2024.
  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
  • The ability to obtain a Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. 


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher.
  • Mechanical or Industrial engineering experience/coursework.
  • Experience working in an assembly-focused manufacturing environment.

Intern Pay Range:

Bachelor’s: $23.75 to $29.25 per hour

Master’s: $34.75 to $36.50 per hour
