Manufacturing Production Scheduler – 18 month contract

Job Description:

Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Production Planner is responsible for generating the Final Schedule in agreement with Operations, based on available capacity and materials, in line with our agreed upon S&OP volume ensuring Customer requirements are fulfilled. This position is for 18 months and reports to the Planning and Logistics Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Improving operating efficiency and plant utilization.
  • Establish a weekly production plan for the Company by converting a list of production requirements into a feasible production plan to ensure matched sets of materials and capacities are available to meet the needs of customers in a cost-effective and production efficient manner adhering to all production rules and schedule effectiveness guidelines. 
  • Ensure production plan and manufacturing schedules cover immediate and future demand.
  • Scheduling of detailed hourly, daily and weekly production in conjunction with Master Scheduler and operating areas using SAP and Gantt chart (digital) system.
  • Revisit and revise plan (if necessary) to incorporate changes either internally or externally driven (eg, changes in customer priorities). Communicate the rescheduled plans to all functions responsible for execution, ensuring all digital display tools are updated as it is a driver for performance monitoring.
  • Management of recipe requirements, WIP, remnants, rework.
  • Metrics: monitor daily, weekly and monthly performance to plan by gathering information from plant, SAP and producing MRP II Key Performance Indicators.
  • Procedures – writing of Standard Operating Procedures, Standard Work Instructions, Scheduling Guidelines and Maintenance of Skills Matrix / Competencies etc.

Experience:

  • Candidates will ideally have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in multinational organization’s supply chain management, preferably with a manufacturing background. 
  • Demonstrated ability of developing production plans, taking into consideration company’s objectives, business rules and current challenges / constraints.    Good working knowledge of SAP MM and PP module.

Qualifications:

  • Cert/Diploma in Business Administration/Industrial Engineering /Finance preferred.
  • APICS certification preferred. SAP experience would be considered as an advantage.
  • Food/ beverage processing or pharmaceutical manufacturing Supply Chain experience.
