WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

As HR Manager for Nike Japan based in Tokyo office, you'll provide solutions and advocacy to Nike Japan’s senior business leaders. In collaboration with the global, geography and territory HR teams you'll help implement functional HR strategy across multiple teams and business units. You'll provide strategic consultation and coaching to senior leaders on organizational issues that contribute to growth and competitiveness of the business and the team. You'll also serve as a key resource for employees through sensing, listening, providing guidance, and directing inquiries to the appropriate HR specialists.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
As HR Manager for Nike Japan, you will provide expert advice and coaching to leaders and their teams and drive a "manager excellence" mindset to ensure that strong leadership and a coaching culture permeates the organization. As a champion of change and agility, you will guide and coach the business leaders through change journeys.

You will develop strategic, effective solutions that are aligned with business strategies and objectives. This includes providing HR functional expertise on business strategies, as well as general business expertise, to managers and teams. In addition, you will also be part of the planning and execution of talent bench creation, succession/ career planning, and functional excellence.

You’ll build strong partnerships with Communities of Expertise (COEs) and Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA) HR teammates to collaborate effectively in designing and delivering team and talent solutions for the business.  

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
This role will focus on Nike Japan‘s business teams and will partner with the extended Japan HR team, COE teams in Singapore/US, and APLA HR partners. This role will report to the Director, of Business HR, based in Tokyo.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor’s degree required in the relevant or a related field, or any acceptable combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in the relevant or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience across HR Generalist and Specialist areas; experience in talent acquisition, talent management, total rewards, mobility, diversity, and employee/labor relations preferred.
  • Well-developed business acumen and proven enterprise thinking. Possess proven experience developing partnerships with business leaders, particularly in helping them lead an organization through significant change, and during a period of realignment and growth.
  • Ability to coach and communicate across all levels of a matrix organization.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills both in English and Japanese.  
  • Comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change in a fast-moving organization.
