The Demand and Supply Management (DSM) team is responsible for ensuring every Nike athlete is able to access the product they want, when they want it. DSM combine insights and analytics to sense and shape how much product consumers will want, driving inventory efficiency and productivity. By ensuring Consumer Demand is Nike Demand, we can better serve their needs.
 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for an experienced Digital Planning Director who has a consistent track record of leading hard-working teams and is passionate about digital and omnichannel retail sales and inventory forecasting. You will play a critical role in leading a new team through exciting organizational transformation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong experience delivering results within the footwear and apparel retail industry, e-commerce, planning, supply and inventory management, or merchandising in a large enterprise. You will have a passion for leading and inspiring diverse, multicultural teams. You will be known for your expertise with large amount of high velocity data and fast, effective decision-making. With excellent executive-level interpersonal skills, you will be adept at crafting and delivering high-impact, innovative solutions across the business to a broad audience.

With strong interpersonal skills, you will connect teams, processes and capabilities to enable our future growth for Nike’s Digital business and our consumer. You will be able to navigate balancing short- and long-term goals, leading complex decisions that impact the business, based on your strong strategic and commercial acumen. You’ll be able to influence key stakeholders through your ability to story tell from your compelling analysis, insights and recommendations. WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON

You will be accountable to lead and drive the planning and achievement of our sales, margin and inventory goals for our Digital business, to serve the consumer. This leadership role will own the development and management of topline business planning, product-level assortment planning and in-season business management for Nike Pacific’s Digital business.

This position will be responsible for the strategic vision and execution to develop comprehensive seasonal planning strategies and assortment goals and monitor in-season product performance to maximize revenue, profitability and optimize inventory. You will lead the elevation of planning processes and decision-making to better serve consumers and members in a digitally connected retail industry which requires online-to-offline integration. You will be skilled at partnering with senior leaders to build and deliver Pacific’s strategic priorities focusing on Nike Direct Digital Commerce (NDDC) and Nike Store-Owned (NSO) success metrics. You will drive Nike's Consumer Direct offense with focus on NDDC capabilities, and bringing expertise in new and improved ways to deliver business goals.

Other responsibilities include presentation skills, to present compelling ideas and solutions with clarity, to influence people and decisions. You will be able facilitate effectively to stimulate discussion, generate ideas and listen to produce outcomes with synthesized results. Leading by example, you will apply high standards consistent with Nike’s values to behaviors and interactions. You will demonstrate team participation to actively collaborate with other NDDC Planning team members across Nike to enable best practice sharing and aligned direction.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH

You will report to the Demand and Supply Management Director, with a dotted line report to the Asia Pacific and Latin America NDDC Planning Team. You will be on the Pacific DSM Leadership Team and the Pacific NDDC/NSO Leadership Team. You will collaborate with peers from territories across Asia Pacific and Latin America. You will have direct reports from Merchandise Financial Planning, Assortment Planning and Allocation Planning.

You will succeed through close collaboration with teams across Nike Direct, Integrated Business Planning, Merchandising, Brand, Operations, Finance and Marketplace.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and training. MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in e-commerce, retail, finance, business planning, merchandising, footwear and apparel business management, inventory management, or a related field. Experience working across multiple business platforms, including vertical retail, owned and partner businesses will be an advantage.

  • Proven track record in retail, assortment and/or merchandising planning, inclusive of scenario planning across revenue, margin and inventory. Able to use analytics to identify drivers and root causes, along with an awareness of macroeconomic factors.

  • Experience in developing an understanding of customers, competitors, and retail trends; knowledge of sports apparel and footwear market preferred.

  • Ability to craft and drive strategic agendas, thoughtful risk-taking, elevated data synthesis, and high-profile communications (compelling, high-impact storyteller)

  • Outstanding cross-functional collaboration and social skills, with a self-directed and strong bias for action, strategic problem structuring and solving, and comfortable working in ambiguous environments.

  • Inspiring and authentic leader and teammate, with strength in coaching and developing others. Demonstrated success influencing others, leading change, and achieving business results with strong executive presence and storytelling, both written and verbal. Ability to lead through teamwork, with outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization. Experience working with a highly diverse international team is preferred.
