Dow has an opportunity as a Process Control Engineer in San Lorenzo – Prov. Santa Fe (ARG) The successful candidate will apply technical knowledge by providing automation solutions for the chemical process equipment involved, work process, unit operations, operating conditions or process technology improvements. At this experience level, supports intermediate projects, or portions of the process automation design within capital projects. Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within a job discipline.

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Applies Global Project Methodology (GPM) and Process Automation Work Process Discipline.

  • Ensures that the project scope is well-defined and meets the business needs in a cost-effective manner.

  • Ensures that the process automation is safe, and meets DOW LPP’s and other EH&S requirements.

  • Drives project execution within their discipline.

  • Provides input to project schedule and plans, then monitors progress against the plans.

  • Ensures discipline design deliverables for their discipline meet the needs of the project: functions as intended, on time, and within budget.

  • Identifies technical problems and appropriately engages the business technology center and SME network to resolve them.

  • Programs control applications for various distributed control systems. Writes simulation applications in order to verify the functionality of the control program and for training plant operators. Maintain and optimize the control system.

  • Evaluate risks for safety and reliable operations

  • Coordinate with other functions and plant support to execute actions.

  • Participates in project commissioning and startup activities, including tuning of control loops.

  • Develops knowledge and skills in all aspects of Process Automation.

  • Obtains basic knowledge of unit operations and Chemical Engineering fundamentals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced English

  • Bachelor´s in Engineering, preferentially Electronic with Process Automation or process control background. Chemical Engineering as a second option.

  • Required 3 years of experience in industrial automation.
