We are the hub of many business units and work to achieve profitability and growth goals through development and execution of state and distribution channel strategy. We’re looking for Personal Lines Product Interns, location variable, with hybrid and remote work options available.

About You

A successful Personal Lines Product Intern at Nationwide has:

Education

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, Risk Management, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Insurance, Marketing, MIS, Business Management or a related field of study
  • Completion of sophomore or junior year is preferred
  • Involvement in student activities and/or some work experience
  • 3.0 GPA or higher is desired

Skills/Competencies

  • Exposure to insurance and risk management concepts
  • Problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to use judgement in recognizing problems, determining appropriate actions, and implementing solutions
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of internal and external contacts
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate in a team environment
  • Natural curiosity to explore and question
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; SQL, Tableau, or PowerBI are preferred

Job Summary

A day in the life of a Personal Lines Product Intern might include:

  • Analyzing large data sets to make or influence strategic business decisions with the guidance of Product Managers
  • Completing tasks involving data reporting and analysis
  • Track competitor rate changes and market share
  • Participating in department and company meetings
  • Completing training and developing proficiency in the tools to complete analysis on Personal Lines Products
  • Using knowledge of products, coverages, and discounts to support both internal and external stakeholders
  • Networking with business partners for a deeper understanding of how a business operates
  • Complete a Capstone Project along with other Product interns to drive business results at the conclusion of the summer internship
  • Performing other duties as assigned
