Your Team:
As part of the Corporate Controllers Department, the Finance Shared Services organization is responsible for the controllership activities in support of the U.S. business units, Newark-based international entities and select international locations. The Financial Reporting team supports GAAP and Statutory reporting across multiple legal entities, including subsidiary financial statements, disclosures, analysis, various regulatory filing submissions, external reporting for Separate Accounts and internal and external audit support. The team partners with Business Unit Finance and Operations areas, Actuarial, as well as other corporate areas.

Your Role:
The Manager position will assume a leadership role on the Financial Reporting team with management responsibility for various subsidiary financial statements, disclosures and regulatory filings. This position will provide the candidate exposure to the company’s insurance businesses, specifically Life and Annuities products as well as GAAP SEC financial reporting requirements.

The responsibilities of this position will include:
• Manage the coordination and preparation of various subsidiary financial statements and disclosures, legal entity financial statement analysis, while ensuring the control, timeliness and accuracy of the financial statements
• Manage the preparation, review and analysis of reporting data in support of disclosures for inclusion in PFI 10-K/Q and subsidiary financial statements
• Manage the coordination, preparation and completion of stand-alone audited financial statements and footnote preparation, including collaboration with various external auditors and Business Units, which are filed with regulators and/or used for client purposes
• Partner with Business Unit Finance areas, Corporate areas and other internal business partners on accounting and reporting matters
• Manage the coordination, preparation and review of various surveys and regulatory filing submissions for various federal agencies/departments
• Support the implementation of new accounting standards
• Support quarterly/annual audits by Internal Auditors, as well as, Independent External Auditors
• Continuously identify efficiencies and improve effectiveness by determining best practices
• Ensure adequacy of internal controls over financial reporting and compliance with Enterprise Accounting Policies and Procedures
• Support special projects, initiatives and ad-hoc report and analysis requests

Your Expertise:

What you’ll need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5 - 7 years of financial reporting and analysis experience
• Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory accounting principles
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities under challenging time frames
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong collaborative and partnering skills
• Highly motivated, proactive, detailed oriented
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work overtime during peak periods

It’d be a plus if you have:
• Advanced degree or designation (MBA, CPA) or pursuit towards
• Insurance and/or Investment experience a plus
• Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles
• Experience with Prudential Financial systems a plus (Oracle, Essbase, Supplemental System, and Workiva applications)

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $111,400.00 to $165,800.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
