Assistant Merchant

SAUSALITO, CA (Hybrid)


Serena and Lily are seeking an Assistant Merchant to join our team in Sausalito, California. You will assist in the development and execution of assortment plans with a strong consumer understanding and a critical role in cross-functional communication. You will manage department tools including assortment lists, sample tracking, data uploads, and information files with accuracy and consistency. You will need to have strong organizational skills, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities. The ideal candidate has a passion for product and service, an aptitude to quickly learn systems and financials, and most importantly, a strong, demonstrated work ethic.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a strong understanding of the merchandising calendar to meet critical dates.
  • Manage the process of SKU creation and maintenance.
  • Manage product SKU lists and maintain accurate and up-to-date department documents.
  • Own the photo sample ordering and tracking process with vendors and the photo team.
  • Manage seasonal product information with cross-functional partners.
  • Manage and upload promotional pricing files.
  • Support product assortment strategies to deliver sales and margin forecasts.
  • Understand product trends, historical data, and design shop feedback to manage in-season opportunities and/or risks.
  • Interpret and apply consumer and competitive insights to the business.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Influence others to achieve results: a high potential for leadership presence.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • A passion for a career in Merchandising
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Maintain a cooperative team environment that promotes high-performance standards and attainment of goals.
  • Demonstrate strong listening, verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Flexible work environment: 2 days in the office required, more if needed.


COMPENSATION:

  • $67- 70k per year is the anticipated starting base pay for this role. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this role. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, education, and skills.

Employees can enroll in our company’s 401k plan. During the first year of employment, full-time employees accrue twenty-one days of PTO and seven paid holidays throughout the year.
