Location:  This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our office locations.  California preferred.  Will consider other locations.

Hours:   Pacific Standard Time zone

Responsible for working with business partners to identify and implement medium to large projects that support achievement of simple to complex unit or corporate goals. Projects may be business and/or technical (software implementation or application updates) in nature. Works with moderate guidance and is responsible for applying project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables, processes, and systems. Operates within defined parameters using project management methodology.

The Project Manager is responsible for applying project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to the provider interventions in the California Commercial and Exchange member and provider programs and operations.  Uses project management methodology to manage the development and tracking of California local initiatives, track interventions, fulfill incentives and communicate at our monthly operations meetings.  Will work closely with California Quality leadership to execute operational strategy and initiatives.

How you will make an impact:

  • Tracks operations and incentive program performance and compliance.  Develops and adds new incentives as appropriate.  Facilitates incentive payments and budgets.
  • Develops communication management plan, executes communication plans.
  • Develops work plan structure and project schedule.
  • Manages the development of a prescribed planning document; develops project charter; maintains and updates all project documents.
  • Partners with sponsors to secure project approval.
  • Delivers files to vendor to launch the program interventions, conducts and participates in vendor calls to discuss program implementations.
  • Collaborates with Marketing teams (both Marketing & Brand Voice and Provider Engagement Marketing).  Provides support to provider consultants.
  • Maintains issue log for operations for the California local operations team.
  • Sets and manages expectations with resource managers and team members; provides performance feedback to team members and resource managers; defines project team roles and responsibilities.
  • Develops deployment plan; leads project meetings; identifies, documents and prioritizes scope changes.
  • Generates reports and dashboards, regularly reports status of projects, manages and monitors ROI throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develops testing strategy; conducts project close-out activities; prepares and participates in quality review checkpoints; obtain/secure and archive necessary approvals; manage and update project plan.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS in a related field and minimum of 3 years professional project management experience, which at least 2 years are spent leading and directing project tasks; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills strongly preferred
  • Ability to present to executive leadership strongly preferred
  • Highly proficient with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau and Visio strongly preferred
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast paced, highly matrixed organization strongly preferred
  • Experience managing external vendor performance preferred
  • Strong data visualization skills including financial modeling preferred
  • HEDIS/Clinical quality experience preferred
  • Must have the ability and be willing to travel to a specified office monthly or quarterly for staff meetings, as appropriate

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $74,400 to $133,920.
