Director, US Marketing – Wound Closure (Sutures)

Key Responsibilities:

The Director, US Marketing, Suture develops, leads and ensures execution of business plans and marketing plans to meet future needs and expectations. Responsible for leading a team of Marketing Managers and management of ~$900MM+ business comprised of ETHICON's Suture portfolio. Responsible for the development of annual brand and product marketing strategies and tactics supporting long term strategic plans. Strategic suture platforms include STRATAFIX, Plus Sutures, and CV Suture. Has oversight of suture portfolio pricing, product launches, suture efficiency efforts, alternate channel exploration, account RFP and conversion support.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Ensures brand integrity by leading efforts across multiple functions and channels to grow the ETHICON Suture franchise.

· Build a robust upgrade execution plan converting traditional suture to new innovative strategic suture technology.

· Management of key strategic brands that are essential to the growth and of the Suture franchise.

· Develops innovative strategies to drive product growth, protect unit share and manage the lifecycle of multiple core brands in open and laparoscopic surgery.

· Establish value propositions that met our customer’s needs.

· Drive demand through VP execution focusing on evidence and claims to all key stakeholders.

· Implements and develops tactical plans by providing appropriate promotional materials.

· Explore innovative ways to drive awareness and demand for our key platforms.

· Monitors and controls budget to access promotional effectiveness; owns demand forecasting for assigned products and analyzing financials within a brand.

· Works productively with external agencies and cross functional groups within the organization.

· Ensures completion of market analysis and monitors competitive activity.

· Develops new concepts and products; portfolio management and prioritization of new opportunities through financial modeling and gap analysis.

· Collaborate with Marketing organization and other internal customers to implement strategic branding programs that support key growth franchise areas.

· Manage key agency relationships; including involvement in selection process, building relationships with agency management and agency evaluation process and review.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant business experience (Sales/Marketing) is required
  • A minimum of 5 years Marketing Experience is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years direct people management, supervisory and/or project management experience is in a cross functional environment is required.
  • Experience developing brand strategy required.
  • Experience developing brand positioning preferred.
  • Experience preparing strategic briefs and resolving implementation issues required.
  • Suture experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to navigate and achieve business impact across a highly-matrixed organization is required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of brand marketing, customer segmentation and marketing communications is preferred
  • Experience in customer selling and interaction is preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, business acumen, project management and organizational influence skills is required.
  • Good interpersonal skills with emphasis on leadership, relationship development and influence management.

This position will be based in Raritan, NJ and require up to 25% travel, US domestic.

The anticipated base pay range for this role is $142,000 to $249,400
