Position Overview:

The individual will work with design and manufacturing engineers and will have the responsibility to perform the following duties:

  • Plan, directed, and coordinated manufacturing processes in the audio/video product line.
  • Serve as primary manufacturing representative to cross-functional teams involved with product development and product Introduction. Provide real-time DFM/DFA/DFT for new products.
  • Serve as manufacturing liaison with the Engineering department on manufacturing problems and engineering changes.
  • Work on new products during the Product Proposal phase. Monitor and analyze projects for scheduling and ship dates.
  • Interact with NPI Project Engineering teams in other Extron locations.
  • Responsible for product manufacturability during the development phase. Debug and prepare products for manufacturing locally or abroad.
  • Evaluate product failure during DVT and pre-production and make recommendations for changes to product design if required.
  • Summarize product startup issues found during the new product introduction phase, including resolution of problem or issue buyoff and risk assessment.
  • Understand and clarify issues on drawings and manufacturing documents.
  • Coordinate and organize schedules for all phases leading from development into production as products are milestones.
  • Support the production lines for technical issues, preventive and corrective maintenance, and day-to-day activities.



Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Process, or Industrial Engineering experience.
  • 3 years experience in introducing products to manufacturing and process of development for new product rollout.
  • Experience with PCB assembly, electro-mechanical and cable components, assemblies, testing, and instrumentation is a plus.
  • The ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings is a plus.
  • Experience in manufacturing process development for new product rollout.
  • Background in production and manufacturing operations.
  • Excellent team building and organization skills are required.
  • Ability to establish, coordinate, and lead teams for problem-solving.
